- Domain Name Server(DNS) Configurator
- Introduction
-
- An IP network works with numbers. Each machine has a unique 4 parts
- number. It is easier to work with names than with numbers. Further,
- it is easier to work with name if they are organized in groups, and
- potentially those groups subdivided in sub-groups. A group is called
- a _d_o_m_a_i_n. A machine acting as a translator from names to IP numbers is
- called a DNS. It is a server which either knows how to translate a
- machine name to its IP number or knows how to ask other DNSs if it
- can't do it itself.
